Hotel Reviews of the Ramada Coquitlam

I booked a room to spend a couple of days at the Vancouver Olympics and really
just needed a place to crash with my family. We didn’t need anything fancy, and
were just looking to find a room at a reasonable price given the price inflation
around the Olympics. So when I called the hotel, they said they “just had a
couple of cancellations and thus a room available for $150,” I was delighted.
Following our stay, it was clear that wasn’t the case. As you can see in the
accompanying pictures the lot was empty at 8 AM when we checked out on Sunday,
and the reasons were clear. While the rooms were clean, they were highly worn
(see pictures) and ours smelled of smoke. They claim they are a 3 ˝ star, but
that is only possible if it is on a scale that goes to ten. I travel extensively
for business and pleasure and on a normal scale, this would be a two start
property at best. Furthermore, the representation of this hotel is very
misleading:

While they call it a hotel, it should be called a motel as most of the rooms
have outside entry doors from a parking lot overlooking a Midas muffler repair
shop. (see pictures)
-While the hotel claims it is within “walking distance” to the light rail, it
was a half mile walk along a dark 4 lane highway with barely a shoulder, let
alone a sidewalk for most of the way.
-What they don’t mention in the description is the sound of trains honking and
clanking throughout the night.
I would also point out that the phone in the room didn't work. I mentioned this
to the front desk the right after we checked in and after two days, they still
hadn't fixed it.
The staff was friendly, but for the most party not very knowledgeable about
places to eat or go in the surrounding community beyond McDonalds or Denny’s
type restaurants.
I would have been fine with this no frills hotel option should it have been as
expected based on their web site.

The place needs some serious renovations like most Ramada's. But the price is
right and its fairly clean so no complaints. When me and my family stayed in the
Ramada in Coquitlam we had an awesome time. the staff were very nice and the
rooms were ok for the money that we spent. I recommend this hotel to anyone that
is planning to stay in the Coquitlam area!

My stay at this hotel was good. The staff were very friendly and accommodating.
My room was clean and I was upgraded upon check in. Room was very quiet, I had a
great nights sleep all 4 nights of my stay. The restaurant served great food and
stayed open late just for my family and I when we arrived late. I would
recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Coquitlam area.

Good location since we had a wedding to attend by Stanley Park and freinds
to visit in Maple Ridge. Ikea close by. Has a indoor swimming pool and hot tub
:) we have kids so it was the deciding factor. No air conditioning in the lobby
and side door to building was not working properly.

Right from the moment we walked in the door, we were treated exceptionally! The
Guest Services Manager (Jackie) and her staff were amazing and went above and
beyond to ensure our stay was great. Troll's restaurant (Tuula) - we will never
forget you. In the 7 days we stayed at your hotel you became family to our team
and we will never forget our experience! (We particularly loved the ice cream,
strawberries & whipped cream as our reward for playing well!) Thank you to
Jackie, Tuula and all of the staff who were so kind, flexible, helpful and
supportive of our team. We believe that it was the way we were treated that
contributed to our success in winning our tournament! Thanks everyone!!

My family & I stayed while shopping in Vancouver. They have a great location
on the # 7 hwy. It is only 3 mins. from IKEA. Near some good restaurants but Tim
Hortons is a bit of a drive. The hotel has A/C in the common areas. Our room was
clean, quiet & comfortable so overall I was happy. I enjoyed the fish and chips
