in the biz. Mimes, magicians, jugglers, stand-up acts and comedic

Vancouver International Film Festival

Description: Top Canadian and international films are shown throughout
this ten-day festival held each September or October. Over 300 films
from more than 50 countries are shown at four local theatres and include
dramatic features, documentaries, comedies and animated shorts, along
with alternative theatre and performance art. Due to Canadian law, you
must be a member of the Film Festival Society and be 18 or older to see
many of the films (they are unrated). Memberships are easily obtained at

THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS OF SAND
SCULPTURE; CASTLE & CRAFTS MARKET
Location: Harrison Lake
Since 1990 Harrison Hot Springs has hosted the World Championships of
Sand Sculpting. This contest, set on the shores of picturesque Harrison
Lake, features sculptors from around the world competing to win this
prestigious title. Watch them create their masterpieces that will be on
display until early October 2008. Castles & Crafts Market will be held
during the first weekend of Harrison's World Championship Sand Sculpture

BC Cancer Foundation's 2008 Tour of
Courage
The BC Cancer Foundation's Tour of Courage weekend kicks off on Friday,
September 21 with "Lessons in Leadership, Lessons in Courage" an
intimate event for a limited number of corporate leaders and their
guests from within the cancer community.
On Saturday and Sunday it's all about the Bike. Choose your ride - the
demanding 100+km Challenge Ride on Saturday, September 22nd with Lance
and friends or join Lance at the Sunday, September 23rd - 30, 60 or 90
km BC Cancer Foundation Tour of Courage Community Ride - do your part
for the fight against cancer in British Columbia.
