Guest Review of the Delta Vancouver Suites Hotel

We arrived at this airport hotel with great trepidation only to find
that we were pleasantly surprised. We were only here for one night in
between flights, but it fully matched our requirements. Spacious
comfortable, quiet room. Fantastic view of the Delta from our room. Very
friendly and helpful staff in all departments. Great room service.
Clean, fully working gym with a good selection of equipment and a view
that would be difficult to beat. Loved our stay here would recommend to
others and would not hesitate at a return visit.

I stayed at the Delta Vancouver Suites this past Friday and Saturday,
Sep. 23 and 24. I was attending a conference at the SFU conference
centre, to which the hotel is attached. The convenience of having the
two right beside each other is great, it allows you to run up to your
room for a few minutes of peace and quiet when the opportunity arises.
I shared the room with my friend and colleague.
We had a room on the 23rd floor, which had amazing views over the
harbour, parts of downtown, and the North Shore mountains. Because the
weather was great, we really enjoyed those views.
The room itself was bright, modern and spacious. The living room part
was well equipped with a couch, coffee table, comfy chair, desk and good
office chair, and a cabinet housing the TV, fridge, etc.
The bedroom had two extremely comfortable beds, flat screen TV and a
dresser. There are two closets, which again is convenient.
The bathroom is well lit and well equipped as well, and the spacious
entry hall made moving around simple.
I love that both rooms have windows that open. With the hotel being on a
busy downtown street, there is definitely a fair amount of street noise
when the windows are open, but after all, you are downtown, and with the
windows closed there is little noise.
Being on the club level, we were able to use the Signature lounge, which
was very convenient for breakfast and cups of real tea. The lounge,
again, is well equipped with comfy chairs and a great deck, which we
didn't use, but which has great views. The breakfast was nicely done,
fresh fruit, the usual breads and pastries, juice, a hot dish of some
sort, etc.
The staff was amazing, at check in/out, the lounge, and the Signature
Lounge.
Even though the conference was a busy occasion, the hotel helped to make
the weekend as relaxing as it could be under the circumstances, and I
look forward to returning some time soon.

We booked the Delta for three nights to start our Honeymoon (although we
were travelling with our 8 year old son) It is a business hotel and the
standard of the room and facilities is to be expected for a 4* Hotel.
Where the Delta is a great hotel is the customer service, as mentioned
by so many other posts. They honestly can not do enough for you, the
breakfast chef made a full packed lunch for us in an hour, whilst on his
own and in full swing of breakfast, it was not too much trouble at all.
The other mention of great service would be Donny, nothing was too much
trouble and constantly asked if there was any info we needed or
directions etc etc
Location is great we walked everywhere, no more that a couple of blocks
to most of the tourist spots and only two blocks from the main transport
hub of the Waterfront.
Loved our stay and would definitely book again!

The staff here is outstanding. Very friendly and informative. The rooms
were very good - laid out as a suite with a small sitting room and a
bedroom divided by a door/wall. Our room had a king bed, but a small
chair and a desk/chair combo whereas our friend's room had a couch, but
a queen bed. Not sure which is better - I think they are similar in
size.
The lobby is somewhat small, with individual desks serving as check
in/out stations. The parking is very expensive - $37 valet overnight,
$34 self-parking. That was almost 1/3 of our daily rate!
The location is very good. Very close to Gastown, and walkable distance
to the waterfront and Stanley park. Vancouver is a very walkable city
overall.
Make sure to visit Granville Island (touristy, but fun) and Denman
Street on the southern side. Lots of cool and fun restaurants.
We enjoyed our stay at the hotel very much. We have also stayed at the
Hyatt and the Marriott nearby and I would say this hotel is slightly
below those two, but not by much. |
