Review of the Georgian Court Hotel Vancouver
17 September 2011
Spent two nights on business, property was selected by my
client. Right across the street from the football stadium and
close to the hockey arena but not close to other downtown
attractions. Front desk service was very good/accommodating. The
restaurant service (2 breakfasts) left a little to be desired.
Room and bathroom were good but a little dated. They actually
have 1970s "house" style door knockers on each room door.
I thought the "special" rate of $199 CAN was a little pricey for
the type of property.

My wife and I really enjoyed our three night stay. The hotel is
conveniently located for seeing the main sights, the room was
very clean and the beds were very comfortable. We enjoyed the
complimentary newspaper, bottle of water and downtown shuttle,
which we took to go to Stanley Park. The shuttle driver was very
helpful, knowledgeable and made us feel welcome. The staff at
the front desk were also helpful in answering questions on where
to find the places we wanted to visit. And we enjoyed the free
internet service, which allowed us to stay in touch with family
during our vacation. We definitely recommend this hotel to
anyone visiting Vancouver.

From beginning to end we enjoyed our stay at this conveniently
located hotel. The desk service staff were friendly, helpful and
accommodating. The hotel is within a short walking distance of a
number of Vancouver venues including Rogers Arena. We would
recommend this hotel.

We stayed here for 2 nights while passing through Vancouver. The
location was perfect for seeing all the central sites, including
Stanley Park which was about a 40 minute walk away, Granville
Island, and the centre of town, including stations for the
Canada Line to the airport. Our room was big and clean, and
staff very friendly and helpful. We didn't eat at the hotel, but
there are plenty of options close by for any meal of the day.

We decided to make a weekend trip from Seattle to Vancouver to
meet up with friends who were visiting. Happened to book this
hotel via Expedia. I had seen the reviews from previous guests
and decided to take the chance. I have to say that we had a
great experience. We have a 17 month old and we had a very
comfortable stay. I gave 4 and 1/2 stars because of the BC Place
construction. Once that is done its 5 stars all the way.
Pros:
1) Great location. It is opposite the Vancouver Canucks stadium,
in downtown so you can walk to the shops, the art gallery and
eating joints.
2) It’s a small boutique hotel so it was really neat and clean
3) Very accommodating management. The air conditioning in the
room we first got was really loud and they were able to change
us to a different one even though it was midnight. I am sure we
got lucky that the place was not full on the day we checked in
but I was very happy with how obliging and apologetic they were
about the poor experience we had the first time around
4) Free WiFi and purified water. It was so good to not have to
worry about looking for a store to buy water or having to pay
the exorbitant rates for water that other hotels charge
Cons:
1) The location. It is right opposite the BC Place Stadium that
is being constructed so there is a lot of noise during the day
and of course there is a little bit of dust as well
2) The hotel does not have a restaurant in house (there is a
restaurant attached to the hotel) so room service essentially
means ordering in.
