This is a top notch, first class hotel. Recently, i stayed here
in the city rather than at the airport. I ended up staying for a
couple of nights here on a local trip before heading out.
It is an extraordinary location. The nearby restaurants are
fabulous, reaonable and high quality and the town location is
superb. The convention center is walking distance and options
are always there for myriad trade shows or sporting events.
Simply outstanding. The neighborhood is just adjacent to the
immediate downtown. The hotel bedding was superb. The room was a
tad on the smaller side and there was a charge for internet. The
building itself is old, renovated and classy. This is a hotel
where you are pampered and fell it in the details, from the walk
in the door to the check out.

I stayed at the Georgian Court Hotel for four nights and overall
I would say it was a very good stay.
The rooms were gorgeous and the beds were pretty firm, which
isn't my favorite, but overall they were relatively comfortable.
There were also plenty of pillows on the beds and some were firm
while others were soft so there were plenty of options depending
on your preferences. The sheets were also pretty soft and the
down comforters were nice, although a little too warm for the
summer.
The bathrooms were pretty large and very clean, which I really
enjoyed. The complimentary toiletries were by Aveda, which is an
excellent brand, so you can leave your personal toiletries at
home for this hotel! The only problem with the bathroom in my
room is that the granite counter top had a huge crack in it,
probably about eight inches long. It freaked me out a little and
I was always worried about it potentially scratching me if I
accidentally rubbed up against it.
One of my favorite parts of the hotel was the free water bottles
they gave out. There were water bottles in the room, which I was
afraid to use at first because I thought they would charge me
for it, but it turns out they're free! There's also always a
hefty supply of free water bottles at the front desk in case you
need more. It was great because I worry about drinking tap water
in other countries, but hate paying a fortune for water bottles
and here I didn't have to worry about either! Some days there
were also free apples at the desk, which is great if you want a
healthy snack! They also have a free shuttle service that will
take you almost anywhere in downtown. It won't take you to the
airport or Granville Island or any other place that requires
crossing a bridge, but you can take it to Stanley Park and save
the hassle of walking 40 mins to get there or trying to figure
out the bus system! It was great and the shuttle driver was
really helpful, giving us a map of Stanley Park and suggestions
for other places to see in the area.
The hotel is very close to Robson Street, which has a lot of
clothing stores if you walk several blocks away from the hotel.
The street also has a number of restaurants pretty close to the
hotel, although most of them weren't exactly great. However,
there is a grocery store, Costco, bus stop, aquabus stop, and
train station just a few blocks away and the hotel is within
walking distance from Gastown!
Overall I would recommend this hotel because you definitely get
what you pay for and the location is pretty nice!

I chose this hotel because it is a pick up point for the Rocky
Mountaineer. The hotel is great, with a spacious room and very
comfortable bed. It was also easy to get a cab around this
location. |
