Guest Reviews of the Cassandra Hotel

Easier access than I thought, my girlfriend and I came from Metrotown and Sushi Garden for dinner and then we have decided to rest for my weekend. I can't see how bad this hotel can be, of course they are not a five-star hotel, but I can say that their service are above standard and from my experience, the price was worth it! Definitely coming back for my x'mas trip

It was a pleasant stay at the hotel, close to train to DT area as well as the Metrotown shopping center to spend time with my bf. I say its a great and cheap place for young travellers. The breakfast was so-so, but we explore the neighborhood and there were restaurants everywhere! Very nice staff during our stay.

I would not recommend this hotel and I would never go back! When I arrived at the hotel they tried to charge me a higher rate than what I booked it for online. The room was dirty and only had 1 blanket and 1 towel and the pillow smelled like mold. Also the front desk was calling our room at 130am while we were sleeping, trying to ask us a question about my credit card. This hotel is a complete joke and I hope that if you read this message you're smart enough to book a different hotel. Don't let the pictures fool you, this place is a DIVE!!! For the same price you can find a much better hotel in Vancouver...we did the next night ;)

We would agree about the musty smell but on the whole we were quite satisfied. We had 2 rooms for my husband and me and our friend, both with a view of the mountains but there were also big electricity pylons outside the windows so we were glad there wasn't a storm! A light didn't work in both rooms which we reported. One was fixed that day, but not the other. We thought the hotel was good value and quite convenient for the skytrain which took us straight into town. The aircon was efficient if a little noisy on high. There was a complimentary breakfast supplied, but the dining room was being renovated so we had to have it in the lobby and the first morning all the pastries had gone even though we were well within the serving time. Staff were very apologetic and provided granola bars! We considered these minor niggles and would stay there again if we were in the area.

The hotel looks nice from outside, the room was decent and clean. We got upgraded to one that got a view of the mountain side which was really nice.
The front desk staff are REALLY nice and helpful! I love that I got free internet, which is great!

My main beef with the place...it does have a dank, musky smell. Even though the hotel is smoke free, I suspect that it's previous owners did not prevent that...and since it looks like the carpet and wall paper wasn't changed...the smell is stuck. And the aircon works well, only problem is the knob doesn't necessarily point to the correct direction. Ha! That took some experimenting to figure out.

After reading review for this hotel i was ready to accept the message of 'you get what you pay for' at this hotel. Well we sure were paying for more than we got, the room was acceptable with enough room for me and my friends but there was only one towel in the bathroom and only one keycard for the three of us. We requested more of both and only got one more of each. The whole three days we spent there the pool was not open for some unknown reason we didn't explore (we had better things to do). Underground parking was cramped and smelled of urine. The only person who worked there was nice to was the lady we checked in with, other than that service was abysmal and upon checkout we were informed that the maid cleaned up our 'extra mess' so we had to pay 26$ extra. There was no extra mess - we will not be coming back here.

Smells damp upon arrival but that is the pool in the basement. Rooms clean and functional. Good cheap Asian restaurants nearby, ask the staff. Mid town but 7 minute walk to train and short train journey on V efficient public transport to centre. Free WiFi all over and computer in lobby.
