I love staying at Fairmont hotels, the service is unrivalled no matter
where we travel. We have stayed at all of the Fairmont hotels in western
Canada and there was something really special with the Hotel Vancouver.
The city has really built up around this hotel and the location is
within steps to amazing shopping, Vancouver art gallery, endless
restaurants and walking distance to the scenic beaches of Vancouver. The
hotel staff were really friendly, and upon check in, we received a free
upgrade to a deluxe suite at an amazing rate. We enjoyed a massive hotel
room with a peekaboo ocean view and classic marble bathroom. The only
downfall of the huge room was the very tight bathroom space.
We also enjoyed the lobby lounge with amazing desserts and drinks at a
reasonably extravagant treat, but the ambiance and relaxation and
service make this lounge a great place to unwind from the hustle and
bustle outside the hotel.
The only real issue with this hotel location is the parking & traffic.
Our taxi driver missed the driveway at the back of the hotel and after
being caught in a standstill in traffic, we unloaded at a bus stop on
the front side of the hotel and hauled our suitcases up the steps, there
are no bellman on this side of the building, or luggage carts. I am not
sure where the vehicles are stored overnight for guests with cars as
there is no parking on site.
The food, ambiance, service and location are amazing and i highly
recommend it for a luxury city retreat or shopping weekend getaway.
Room Tip: Stay in the deluxe suite for space, but ask for one with a
jacuzzi tub to get a more spacious bathroom if they have them

Attended a conference held at the Fairmont in Vancouver, Canada, which
was very well organized with great conference facilities and catering.
Stayed at the Hotel in a fine old style room, very nice facilities, and
a pleasant view over some city streets and the harbour in the distance.
One of the chain of hotels that cross Canada and came as a result of the
railway crossing that nation. A beautiful old building with lots of
memorabilia and photos of the old days.
The Concierge desk were always helpful with tour suggestions and advice,
and the two labradors delightful - they apparently are part of the
heritage of the hotel. Great dining, well located to walk the city. I
would certainly stay there again when in Vancouver.

Very clean and comfortable . The staff at this hotel are very friendly
and helpful which makes a stay here extra special.
Room Tip: I was in the yet to to be renovated area and it was wonderful.
It had a lot of the vintage details, glass door knobs and a cove ceiling
that was amazing

I love staying at this hotel and have stayed there often. I was there
again last week for a couple of days and I was once again reminded of
why I love this hotel so much. It has a great location, unmatched
service, and so many rooms to chose from. My hint, if you are offered a
room that does not quite meet your expectations, just ask to look at
another room. This is a large hotel which can usually offer many types
of rooms for you to choose from. As a business traveller I booked into
the gold floor (which has a lounge for guests). The lounge was very well
stocked with food, liquor, books, DVDs, etc.
Room Tip: Ask to see a few rooms before you decide which one you will
accept.

Two night stay; weekend away with my husband. It's not horrible. It's in
a great location. They just need to pour some money into it for
renovations; the hallways are on the edge of "dumpy" and the lobby bar
attracts a lot of grey hair with its "cruise ship" entertainment. We had
a super-large King room with a massive sitting area. Didn't need it, but
it was nice.

We stayed here for 4 nights with 2 kids. Not really a kid hotel, far too
posh! it was nice to be right downtown though. We rented bikes to bike
around Stanley park and walked to the Aqaubus to visit Grandville
Island. We could walk everywhere and watch the city from our window. The
pool was wonderful though the hot tub was GROSS with a horrible smell.
The fitness room was well stocked with machines and free weights. I
would happily stay again and again. |
