We stayed here overnight for a city break from life on the island. It
was pleasant enough but absolutely not worth the rack rate - we used a
coupon. The wine tasting is a nice touch. The location is on the edge of
Downtown and a fair walk to the West End or Stanley Park

The Good:
-- Location. nicely located about the center of the city, with
convenient access to downtown as well as Stanley Park, Chinatown and
Gastown.
-- Live jazz on the weekend, free wine tasting, friendly and helpful
staff, nice artwork around.
The acceptable:
Room: I think I ended up in one of the older rooms here. The furniture,
the tv and the accents were a bit older. The room was otherwise nicely
cleaned, efficiently designed and quiet. I did get a good rest.
Wifi: The reception was fine, even though I was in a corner room.
Gym: i used the gym in the building, which was sufficient for what i
wanted to do. There were 3 cardio and 1 weight stations. I was the only
one there which also made it comfortable. I haven't tried the pass to
the fancy gym.
The Bad: can't think of anything.
I'm quite averse to bad surprises when I'm on business travel. My
impression is that this is a very reliable hotel, with a few nice perks
to make your stay enjoyable. Would stay again.

I regularly stay in this beautiful small hotel in downtown Vancouver.
Has comfortable rooms, including the special touch of window
seats/lounges. The art work in the rooms, halls and lobby is
spectacular, including Aboriginal artwork from the Museum of
Anthropology. The rooms have great minibar selections. The hotel offers
regular wine tastings in a gallery off the lobby, a great opportunity to
relax, enjoy art, and chat with others before dinner. The hotel's
restaurant O'Doulls has delicious westcoast fare, great service and is
wonderfully spacious. So many additional tailored touches make this
hotel special, such as the option of free coffee delivered to your room
in the morning. The internet service is not an additional cost. All of
this makes a visit to this hotel a pleasure. And for me it is also
important that this hotel is environmentally conscious - its cosmetic
products are not delivered in plastic containers that end up in the
landfill, and multiple types of recycling are observed. |
