Stayed here with wife and young infant son about three years ago. Caught
a lift from the airport with some friends. Large room, nice view.
Breakfast was very nice, so was the pool.
Staff were very friendly - they helped me fit a car seat into a hired
car, something which would have taken me forever...and gave me
directions, very helpful.
had food in the restaurant, but pricy but was OK.
Would stay again.

We stayed for one night only while we were in town for the Sting
concert. The hotel was great, the lobby, restaurant, room and yes
hallways, were all very nice and clean. The bed and pillows were good
and the room itself (room 1412) had a nice view of the library... Two
flat screen tvs, a small kitchenette and a sitting room, nice size
bedroom with queen bed. You can walk to everything, the Queen Elizabeth
Theatre, shops on Granville and Robson, BC Place.... Would definitely
stay again.... Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful!

When we drove up to this hotel the outside and lobby was very nice. As
soon as we went to the room we were very disappointed!! The room was
very old, outdated. The bedding was old, I didn't even want to sit on
it! The beds are not comfy. The bathroom is small. For the price we paid
I would not go back! They need a major update done to the rooms here.

Hotels are usually really bad or they are really good. This one is all
over the map. The bad first: No reservation when I arrived. Booked thru
Air Canada with my flight booking and no reservation. Showed them on my
smart phone (thanks Apple) Finally gave me a room. Room was used.
Macdonalds bags and stuff everywhere. Went back down stairs to the lobby
and they gave us another room. Is was a nicer room on a higher floor and
the VIP blue keys for free breakfast. The problem was that they never
explained where the free breakfast was. Ate 2 breakfasts that I ended up
paying for. Just explain your program please. The halls and area from
parking to lobby were dark and frankly a little scary.
We were told numerous times that we were mistakenly given the blue VIP
key cards. We were given them as a make good for the first crappy room
and missing reservation. We were ready to leave the hotel and go
somewhere else. Even at checkout we were told for the 10th time that we
had been mistakenly given the dreaded blue key cards. I wasn't going to
complain at all but the attitude that the mistakes made were giving me a
blue key card and not screwing the reservation up and giving me a room
that wasn't ready.
Now the good.
The nicer room on the 17th floor was really nice. King size bed and
windows that wrapped around the whole room offering amazing views of the
buildings and mountains. The bathroom was nice, the extra room area
(this is an all suites hotel) was OK (although we left the kids at home
for this trip). Jeff on the front counter did step up and get us the
better room and called up 10 minutes after our arrival to make sure that
everything was OK.
The breakfasts in the hotel restaurant (the ones I thought were free)
were good. They should be. I paid for them.
It's nice to be close to everything and with this hotel, you are close.
Will I stay here again? Not sure.
Explain your policies and programs to your guests and tighten up on
missing third party reservations. Maybe have them emailed to more than
just one person. Especially a person that probably goes home at night. |
