Hotel Review of the Crystal Lodge Hotel Whistler

I stayed here with my husband and another couple and we had a brilliant time.
Our friends did ask to be moved rooms on the first night as it was a bit noisy
from the street but it was fine for us (plus it was a saturday night). The staff
were always helpful and friendly and were always able to answer our questions.
There are a couple of restaurants downstairs so you don't need to leave the
hotel. There is a place to keep your skis/snowboards every night at a hotel at
the bottom of the slopes which is free (although you have to go downstairs which
is easier said than done in your ski boots). The hotel provides this service and
they bring your skis back for you the night before you leave. The hotel is about
2 mins walk to the gondolas. It is right in the village so everything is in
walking distance. We stayed in a traditional room which comes with just one king
size bed (so we didn't have to pay an extra supplement for under occupancy) and
it was ample room for the 2 of us. Very comfy beds too.

Pluses:
-Nice room (Deluxe Studio)
-Great Amenities (flat screen TV, radio with ipod dock)
-Appliances: toaster, microwave, refrigerator, electric kettle, dishes, cups,
utensils
-Housekeeping was excellent
-Very convenient location
Minuses:
-Lousy, lousy, weak water pressure. (Shower was a trickle)
-Snowboard valet less than helpful (Did not take our boards to the Carelton)
-$20/night parking
-Blackout drapes only covered windows. Unfortunately there was no blocking the
light coming in from the windows near the cathedral ceiling; which defeated the
whole purpose.
Overall my wife and I enjoyed our stay. We tried out the heated pool and the hot
tub and had a grand time. The staff was helpful with the exception of the
snowboard valet that refused to take our boards to the Carelton, as is standard
procedure. Instead keeping it at the hotel which was kind of inconvenient. The
water pressure in the shower was pitiful and the evening staff was unhelpful
when we brought that to their attention. For some reason all the lady guest
service attendants were polite and helpful, but the men were less so.
Despite these complaints and the $20/night parking fee, we would stay there
again and would also recommend it to friends headed for Whistler Blackcomb.

I enjoyed a long weekend with my 16 year old son at this very well located hotel
in Whistler. The lobby is well appointed, the front desk staff are very
professional and friendly, the room, while small and basic, was both clean and
comfortable and the price was excellent as compared to the Westin, Pan Pacific
and Hilton which are all in the immediate vicinity.
The trouble with the hotel is noise both from the Village Stroll and from the
Crystal Lounge. I travelled from Toronto arriving in Whistler at about midnight
on Friday night. My son and I were assigned a room on the second floor with a
view of the Village Stroll. At about 1:30 a.m., when I heard and then saw
someone walking through the Village banging on a drum, I gave up trying to fall
asleep and, for the first time ever, called the desk and requested a new room.
Essentially, all along the Village Stroll you hear very loud and very drunk
people screaming, laughing and drumming until the wee hours of the morning and
the windows of this hotel do nothing to reduce the noise from outside. Sleep is
not possible.
Anyway, Lucy at the desk was very accomodating and did find my son and I another
room on the 1st floor but far enough away from the Village Stroll that the busy
street was not a problem. Unfortunately, the new room must be closer to the
bar/club Crystal Lounge. On Sunday night there must have been a live band in the
club because my son and I were gently rocked to sleep by the sound and
vibrations of the bass guitar!
Overall, I was pleased with the location, price and friendliness and
professionalism of the staff. I am very wary of staying at this hotel again
because of the noise.

Excellent spot which I discovered thanks to TripAdvisor! Location is great, ski
locker service works real well. Was there on a boys trip and we had 2 standard
rooms. Both rooms were clean, one was larger than the other - but even the
smaller one was more than big enough. Fridges in the room were great. Highly
recommend and will stay there next time for sure.

The Crystal Lodge Hotel in Whistler, British Columbia, Canada is fantastic. My
wife and I stayed there for 10 nights during January 2011 on our honeymoon. The
service we received throughout our staff from the team at the Crystal Lodge was
first class, nothing seemed to be too much trouble.
Our room was excellent, we stayed in one of the hotels loft suites. In some ways
the room was too big! The hotel is perfectly located minutes from the base of
Whistler mountain.
Hopefully it won't be long until we return to the Crystal Lodge hotel...

We were very surprised at how good this hotel was. We got the hotel on Priceline
and given the great price we weren't sure what to expect. I have to say this
hotel is exceptional value. We normally like to stay at 5 start hotels - 4
seasons etc. but this location can not be beat, you are in the center of
everything. The rooms are large and modern (they also include a flat screen tv).
I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel to anyone considering it - the value/quality
is really very good. We used the outdoor hot tub - it was well heated... the
only thing I wouldn't reco is the restaurant that is attached to the hotel (its
a pub type restaurant).
