Hotel Review of the
Executive Inn At Whistler Village
Oct 26, 2010
I have been doing a weekend at Whistler staying at the Executive Inn the last
few ski seasons in a row, and have always loved the location (right in the
middle of the village, steps away from the base of the gondola). The only two
hang-ups we had in the past about this place was there were a)no elevator and
b)the bathtub/shower were way too big and awkward. I came back again to play
some golf in August, and noted that they have done extensive renovations
including a new elevator and renovated bathrooms with new, proper
bathtubs/showers. In addition, the room was in exceptionally clean condition. We
stayed at a regular room (queen sized bed with kitchen) overlooking the village
stroll, which suited our purposes great. In the past I have usually gotten one
of the lofts, and those are very roomy with high ceilings and fully furnished
kitchens. The service has always been friendly every time I've been here. I will
definitely keep doing a weekend at this place every year.

My girlfriend and I stayed here, nicest, cleanest hotel and very polite and
helpful front desk staff made for an awesome mini vacation for the two of us! We
will defiantly recommend and come back to stay!

Stayed for 2 nights in a Deluxe Room, which included kitchenette with ceramic
hob, fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster, pots, pans and utensils.
The room was excellent, clean, comfortable and modern – it also had a balcony. I
found the best deal through
www.allure-hotels.com.
Location was also excellent.
Had no difficulty with the parking, received a numbered space on check-in,
though it didn’t look as if there were enough spaces for all the rooms.
Would definitely stay again.

Two days before we were due to arrive at the hotel for my friend’s bachelorette
party we called ahead to confirm an early check in and was pleased to hear it
would be complimentary. We were promised that we would get entry to the hotel at
2 o’clock two hours before the usual check-in time. When we arrived we were told
the maid was finishing up the room and to wait. We waited for half an hour in
the SMALL lobby where other customers had similar complaints at the front desk.
We asked again at @:30 and were told that the maid had just started cleaning the
room so we sent the rest of the party off the get some appies and drinks at a
local restaurant while three of us waited. At 330 we asked if we could gain
access to the room and start setting up decorations and mixings drinks and
making food in the kitchen while the maid finishes up. This suggestion was shot
down. At 4 (2 hours after promised check-in) we were called to the desk to sign
the most ridiculous damage deposit I have ever scene in which damage was not
specified in any shape or form and left up to the managers discretion. When we
asked what was considered damaged we were met with a lot of attitude and said
everything down to a scratch on the wall we would be held accountable for. So
when our room was ready at 4:15 we said we wanted a walk through to make sure
that there was no existing damage that we could be held accountable for. Anyway
there were already scratches on the wall so we needed an amended contract
demanded to speak to a manager left our name and number for the morning manger
who never called and we are still waiting for a call. The staff does not care
about their clients.
To their credit the room was nice and clean however i have never received such
poor service in the service industry ever in my life

We saw the photos and description online and booked our reservation hoping that
we wouldn't be disappointed. Our accommodations more than met our expectations.
We will be back and back and back. You can count on it.

The is Inn is European influenced. Small property right in the centre of the
village. Just fully renovated with a small kitchen area if you were to stay more
than a couple nights. For us it was great for morning breakfast and coffee.
Parking underground is limited but free parking is a short 3 block walk out the
back. Down filled toppers on the beds made for a comfy night. A very short
stroll to both Blackcomb and Whistler gondolas. No extras like a pool but one of
the top restaurants shares the lobby. We will definitely come back.

Our room with bedroom in the Loft, kitchenette, living area and bath on the
entry level, is quite cozy. It is very clean, tidy and well maintained by the
room maid. The Inn is well located in the Village Center and close to all the
activity.
We had a pleasant stay.

Pros:
Price ($220 cad 2 nights with parking on whistler site)
Location: center of village across from Starbucks
Room: it grew on us. Enjoyed iPod music dock
Cons: toilet paper holder is inconveniently placed, $5 for log to use fire
place, no free wi-fi, stiff and extremely firm pillows, bed not so comfortable
either, missing light bulbs, fan in bathroom was not functional
Kitchen without oven or dishwasher
Hard to find this place. Front desk was bizarrely not up to par on our
expectations of great customer service but neither were the rest of the ppl in
whistler. Maybe they are all just jaded. Would stay here only if you are
traveling on a budget.
No hot tub or pool!!!
We got a noise complaint for playing some music at 8pm on a Saturday night:(
Overall: stayed here bc of good price. 1 bedroom queen loft ~400 sq ft

We stayed here for the night of the Whistler Grandfondo. Every part of our stay
was 5 star. The welcome, the room, the location, the rate. This hotel is very
cozy and right in the middle of all the best restaurants and attractions. I had
the best sleep in the loft bedroom, I didn't want leave.
