Hotel Review of the Pinnacle Hotel Whistler
Aug 4, 2010
We have stayed here two years running. The rooms are very nice. We had a
premium room with Jacuzzi bath, kitchen area, bathroom with walk in
shower, air con, gas fire, flat screen tv, dvd player and docking
station for an iPod. The hotel is a short distance from the main
Whistler resort and is therefore nice and quiet. The pool area is quite
small but was very quiet during both of our visits. On our second stay
we got a very good rate as a returning guest as well as free parking.
There are some nice restaurants within easy walking distance. Elements
which is also on Main Street near the shops does a kind of tapas menu
that is really nice. If you want a really good value meal go to the
Spaghetti Factory in the main village.

Good and clean hotel compared with others in Whistler
Reasonable price
Rooms comfortable but not big
Pool and fitness center are outside so it's not so easy to use them.

This hotel room with a small kitchen (microwave, dw fridge and cooker)
Jacuzzi bath and shower room, flat screen tv, dvd and balcony was
absolutely superb and we could not have wished for better. The reception
staff were also exceptionally helpful. The only downside was having to
pay for parking. Top marks - we would definitely recommend this hotel.
Stock up on food in nestlers supermarket in Squamish just before
whistler.

We loved this property from the moment my husband found it on Trip
Adviser. The price was right, location perfect, the front desk assistant
was unbelievably helpful. From the upgrade to the two person spa, we
were in heaven. One tiny issue is that the room is not completely
blacked out as there is an upper window that allows morning light in. I
am light sensitive and woke up about 5:30. If I were going to work, I
would like that. On vacation? Nah! Deck chairs were missing...had to
take out a wooden chair. And the threat to charge $15 for leaving a
dirty dish was not cool. But for this place, I will wash dishes! I'd
come back in a heart beat! Thank you!

Great location, fabulous deal, just a wonderful hotel, and the staff
just wanted to please and accommodate their guests. Planning to make this a
yearly trip.
Just one small detail...would have been nice to have deck chairs :)

Booked for one night, but because of scheduling issues, we changed it to
only one night. They changed the reservation even though it was within the
cancellation period. We showed up and found out the pool was down for
maintenance; we were very much looking forward to going for a swim after the
long drive from Vancouver. The hotel compensated us by giving us free parking
(instead of charging $15/day).
The room itself was very nice. The dual soaker Jacuzzi tub was great.
Room was clean except for one tiny part in the shower. We would have stayed
longer if we could have!

We had to change our plans at the last minute which meant arriving in
whistler a day early I called the hotel and they not only changed our date but
also gave us a free upgrade (Thanks Stuart). the staff on reception where very
welcoming and very helpful. The room was large with a whirlpool bath, sitting
area, log fire, small but clean kitchenette. we wanted to stay a few more days.

Stayed in the hotel in May, during the lowest of the low season in
Whistler. Our room was nice enough, fairly large, not at all cramped. The decor
and furnishings were not posh, but also not cheap. We had problems with several
lights not working. One was fixed by a bulb replacement, but the other was
apparently a wiring issue (how does that go unnoticed by staff?). Nice TV, gas
fireplace, slightly obstructed view of the mountains, huge jacuzzi. The overall
quality is a solid 3-star. Desk staff were very pleasant and accommodating
(offered to move us to a new room when we mentioned the lighting problem).
Location is close to, but not right on the Stroll, and a 5-10 minute walk from
lifts. Plenty of restaurants in easy walking distance.

We stayed at this hotel for our honeymoon for 4 nights and we were very
happy with the hotel and the room was awesome, perfect for a honeymoon, there is
a gas fireplace in the room with a big screen tv above it with digital cable and
there was a large jacuzzi tub directly across the room, perfect for watching
hockey games and movies, oh and the robes were to die for sooooooo sooooffftttt!!!
we found the hotel to be pleasant and nice and close to everything. We had a few
problems but were addressed by the hotel staff immediately!! Don't order room
service cause the restaurant adds the tip on the bill and yet if you go to the
restaurant you get 15% off your meal, also there was no menu in the room, so we
got a little sticker shock when the food arrived. All in All a great place to
stay and we will be back again soon!!

It was our first time in Whistler and the Pinnacle made it all the more
memorable. I was anxious at first about the quality of the hotel since we could
not find its front door. It's small lobby didn't help either. When we got to our
room, there was a man fixing our bathroom fan. Although he was very courteous, I
really doubted this hotel.
But all of these doubts vanished after we came back home at night. I say
home because this hotel truly felt like home. Coming from a tropical country, we
can only dream of that winter home scene where it's snowing outside and there's
a warm fire inside. And this was exactly what we experienced at the Pinnacle.
My kid brother must have enjoyed the most. While it's snowing outside
and the fire was keeping us warm inside, my brother was enjoying himself in a
bubble bath in the in-room jacuzzi which has a great view of the mountains
outside.
And of course, the staff were incredible! From storing our luggages to
cracking a witty joke, they made our stay very memorable.
What's wrong with the location? It's just a 10-minute walk to the
Whistler gondola. What's a 10-minute walk along the Village Stroll anyway?
If we go back to Whistler, I'd love to stay here again.
