Hotel Review of the Hilton
Whistler Hotel & Spa

I spent 2 outstanding nights at the Hilton Whistler this March, but
haven't gotten around to posting until now. I will start off by saying
that I wouldn't normally have splurged on this kind of room in Whistler,
but I was given a gift card for Christmas and wanted to treat myself to
somewhere special.
The property itself is very beautiful. It's designed to have the look
and feel of a mountain chalet and really captures the atmosphere of
being in Whistler. The staff were friendly and attentive.
I had a fabulous king-sized bed - so plush and comfortable. The room was
spacious and well laid out. It was Hilton's most 'basic' room, but I
really enjoyed it and was very comfortable. It also had a small bar
fridge, large closet and a type of mini-kitchen with a sink, glasses and
plates. The bathroom was a typical hotel bathroom, however, I was
impressed with the use of Crabtree & Evelyn bath products.
In-room access to high-speed internet was slow at first, but it was sped
up once you logged on and got going. I wasn't overly impressed, however,
with the noise prevention properties of the walls... I was two rooms in
from the common area outside the elevator and could hear people coming
and going all night, the 'ding' of the elevator arriving, etc. Also, I
could hear with total clarity a telephone conversation between the guest
in the next room and her boyfriend, as well as her television (the
volume was not high either).
I am big on fitness amenities when I stay at a hotel and the Hilton has
by far some of the best. The gym is open 24 hours and boasts a full
weight area, cardio equipment with personal TVs, bikes and elliptical
machines - several machines of each, so you don't have to worry about
crowding. It also had a big bowl of Red Delicious apples from which you
could help yourself after your workout.
The piece de resistance for me though was the heated outdoor pool. If
you can endure the frigid temperature for the 20 seconds it takes you to
walk from the door to the pool, you will be rewarded with an incredible
swim. Hilton keeps the pool very warm, so no fear of freezing while
swimming outside in the winter. I was doing laps on my back while big
fluffy snowflakes fell down on me from the night time sky. It was
absolutely magical. Nobody seemed to want to take advantage of this gem
of a pool the whole time I was there - it was deserted each time I went
by. Treat yourself to this experience, it's wonderful.
I also loved the indoor/outdoor hot tub. The tub is indoors, but is
surrounding by huge windows that open up to give you a chilly Whistler
panorama. It's totally invigorating, the contrast of the profound heat
against the winter cold. I had a great view of Blackcomb while sitting
and having a soak.

My family came up to Whistler for a visit the last weekend of July 2010.
We found the hotel fairly easily. very reasonable rate found on
www.allure-hotels.com The hotel was nice and clean. The
front desk answered all of our questions and were very polite. One of
the best features of this hotel is its location. At the end of the
village, it is very easy to get out and walk to whatever attraction you
might want to visit. Shopping and restaurants are close by. We found
plenty to do over a long weekend to keep us busy. The hotel had a nice
pool and jacuzzi, which kept the kids happy. We ate at the in-hotel
restaurant and had a very pleasant experience there. Parking is $25CAD
per night, and we found that once we parked we did not have to move the
car the whole time. The rooms we had were clean and arranged well. We
had a nice sized refrigerator to store cold drinks and left over food.
We enjoyed our stay very much and plan to come back again.

I've stayed in many hotels in Whistler, and this one is one of the best.
It is outside of the main village, just around the corner from the
action, so while it is very quiet, if you're looking for nightlife and
activity it is less than 2 minutes away. The swimming pool, whirlpool
and sauna are in excellent shape and I used them daily, along with the
fitness room. The spa looked gorgeous, although i didn't have the chance
to use it.
Food from the restaurant downstairs was very good, and decently priced
compared to many restaurants in Whistler.

Now, firstly, this was fully covered by my professional association, so
the cost was not a factor. I was housed in a Whistler Junior Suite with
pull-out sofa, fireplace and kitchenette. Extraordinarily clean and
roomy. Pool was to die for in a stunning scenery. And within 50m you are
in the Village. Great location. Outstanding hotel. Very relaxing time
with unbelievable sleep in such plush surroundings

Our stay was amazing! The rooms were spacious and very comfortable. We
found being in the main village was a big plus. Service from the front
desk (Denise) and valets was excellent. We have stayed in many hotels in
Whistler and I can easily say, the Hilton is the best of the bunch. We
will be back!

This hotel is right in the centre of Whistler and is a quality place. We
upgraded to a top floor suite for a very small amount extra and it was
stunning and well worth it. There were views across the town to the snow
capped mountains from a little balcony and it was an enormous room with
a full size cooker and fridge freezer and a fireplace. The staff were
most helpful and the town is full of outdoor activities to keep you
occupied.

Staff was very friendly/helpful, rooms were clean and modern, the
kitchenette was handy.
Hot tub was not hot - our only criticism.
Great central location in Whistler Village.
Could hear the people in the room beside us - not fun while trying to
nap after a full day of exercise.
Go with the valet parking!
