Guests Review about the Edgewater Lodge at Whistler
July 20, 2009
Our group booked ten of the twelve rooms at the lodge in late June, and we were
not disappointed with our stay. Even though the weather was rainy and overcast,
the views of Whistler and Blackcomb were stunning. It was comfortable and
rewarding to simply sit in the window seat and read a book and feel close to
nature. Karina, in the office, gave service above and beyond, recommending
activities to do in the damp weather, making arrangements for our lake to lake
canoe experience, making sure we were comfortable in our accommodations, eager
to help in any way possible.
Our mornings started with a delicious continental breakfast which included fresh
baked pastries, fruit, yogurt, juices, etc. (much better than most we have
experienced in our travels) served in the cozy dining room - with a view,
naturally. Our group was able to enjoy an unhurried meal before starting off on
our day's activities.
The dining staff was very accommodating in setting up our table for 16 adults
and two very young children, and everyone raved about their entrees as well as
desserts.
Our room was quite comfortable; we enjoyed the rustic feel of the entire lodge.
We were away from the bustle of the village, yet close enough to drive to in a
matter of minutes.
My husband and I liked the solitude Edgewater provided.
My husband found Edgewater Lodge while surfing the web for a place to go with
several hiking friends and family members. He was in contact with Kylie numerous
times over the course of 10 months and always found her to be extremely cordial
and helpful in setting up our block of rooms.
We have already recommended the lodge to friends and will continue to do so! We
had a wonderful four days that we will remember for years to come.

Stayed 2 nights at the Edgewater as part of a wedding. The views are stunning
from the rooms and the main dining area. The wedding on the lawn at the edge of
the lake was breathtaking.
However, the rooms are very tired and lacking air conditioning. The main items
that I would replace are the beds (quite firm), bedding (showing age), curtains
(black out drapes would be nice), shower curtain (almost opaque), lighting (very
dim). Given the cost of the hotel in peak summer season, I would have expected a
hotel more in keeping with others in that price range. Do not try to sleep in
past 9AM, if the light coming through the venetian blinds doesn't get you, then
the heat will! |
